MAPS@ to Present at the 2009 GeoDATA Seminar Series

Sarah James and Jamie Longmuir, the lead technical consultants from Maps@, are to present at this years GeoDATA seminar series in Ireland and the UK.  Maps@, the new name in dynamic licence and map data solutions, has generated significant interest in the geospatial world, since its launch in April, as a result of its innovative approach to data licence management. 

Sarah and Jamie will be focusing their presentation on the management of, and getting the most from, Geospatial data licences.  Sarah said "During the development of Maps@, we had to do a significant amount of background research into the technicalities of data licensing.  We literally had to become experts in order to ensure that our system would answer all our customers' requirements.  However, having developed this expertise we felt that it would be good to share it with the Geo-Community." 

The management of data licensing is becoming an issue of increasingly concern in the Geo-spatial world.  Many organisations have struggled with the task of managing multiple geospatial data sets and the complex licensing that goes with them.  Similarly, many data providers want to protect their IPR and minimise copyright infringements.  Maps@ is a new software solution which simplifies and automates this process, leaving the data user free to get on with what they do best and reassuring the provider that their data is being used within their licence terms.

The GeoDATA seminar series is being held at venues across the British Isles through 2009.  The series starts in Dublin on 14th May and will then visit London, Leeds, Edinburgh and Birmingham and finishing in Belfast on 18th November.  Full details on the agenda, profiles of speakers and information on how to register are available by visiting the GeoDATA 2009 web site at http://www.citiesrevealed.com/events/geodata09/.
